10 Oct 01Advice for Home buyers in Poole
Home buyers in Poole can get free advice next Saturday 13 October at the town’s first ever Home buyers day held at Poole Arts Centre.
The Borough of Poole has joined with banks, solicitors and Housing Associations to organise the day. People will have the opportunity to meet with exhibitors offering advice on issues such as mortgages and shared ownership. Advice on Right to Buy and the Portable discount scheme will be available for council tenants. Information on Council Tax requirements and housing maintenance will also be available along with advice on community safety, child care and family working credits. Poole and Dorset Energy Advice centre will be on hand to advise people how to keep future bills down and will be giving out free low energy bulbs.
Bob Williams, Executive spokesperson for Environment and Prosperity, said: "Many home buyers are unable to afford housing as the property prices in poole are rapidly increasing. The Home buyers day will provide an ideal opportunity for people in Poole to be given good advice how they can get on to the property ladder. A wide range of information will be available on the day which will enable buyers to weigh up the different options open to them."
The Home buyers day will be open 10.30am - 3.30pm and will also provide refreshments and entertainment for children.
