24 Aug 01Poole Adults Exam Success
Poole adults taking GCSE and A levels with Poole Adult Education Service have achieved outstanding results. An impressive 32% of students achieved A or A* grades at GCSE, whilst 88.5% of adults achieved passes across the A* - C range. 89% of students passed at A level and 87% passed at AS level. Cllr Sandra Moore, Chair of the Learning Policy Advisory Group, said: "It is a real achievement to combine study with work and family responsibilities. Poole is very proud of its adult learners and tutors. It is good to see adult learners succeeding in diverse subjects such as Latin, Archaeology and Classical Civilisation as well as the core subjects like English and maths." Adults interested in courses starting this Autumn are invited to attend one of the open days at the Oakdale Centre, Wimborne Road. These will take place on Saturday 1 September between 10am and 3pm and on Tuesday 4 September between 6:30 and 8:30pm. Further details are also available by ringing (01202) 262300.
