A Level Results Announced

The nervous wait for Poole students comes to an end today as ‘A’ Level results are finally announced.

Cllr Brian Clements, Leader of the Council, was full of praise for the hard work that had been put in by students and their teachers: "These exams are particularly important as they open the door to further opportunities - in education, training or employment. I very much hope that those involved this year feel that their efforts have been rewarded."

Jeff Hart, Chief Adviser in the Borough, commented about the particular pressures faced by students this year: "The widespread introduction of A/S Levels at the end of the first of their two year courses has meant much additional stress. Public exams are important but we must ensure that schools can continue to offer the breadth of curriculum to ensure a rounded education. We welcome the government’s intention to review the current arrangements."
