Talbot Combined School wins praise from inspectors

\n

Talbot Combined School is celebrating the results of its recent Ofsted report, which praises the school for its leadership and management and for achieving a good level of improvement since its last inspection.

Inspectors praised the school for the high quality of pupils’ work. They also noted that the school provides good standards of care, support and guidance, resulting in good attitudes, behaviour and personal development amongst pupils.

Pete Mallon, Acting Headteacher, said: "The school has received an excellent report which clearly highlights the school’s many strengths. In particular, the inspectors have praised our standards of teaching, leadership, care, special educational needs and parental involvement - all of which lie at the heart of a good school. Thanks to the tremendous efforts of staff, Governors and pupils, we have a school we can be very proud of."

Geoff Harley, Chairman of Governors, said: "Everybody is pleased with the report. When we unpick the Ofsted language we realise we have had an excellent report - a great tribute to everyone’s efforts at Talbot."

Standards in the school are above average in reading and writing at the end of Key stage 1 and in English, mathematics and science at the end of Key Stage 2 and Year 7. Standards in design and technology are above average throughout the school.
