The Borough of Poole’s Leisure Services have re-opened Lodge Hill Swimming Pool after health officials declared the water to be clear of Cryptosporidium.
The re-opening follows repeated testing and monitoring of water samples from the pool and filters since the facility closed on December 5. In addition the Council has ensured that thorough cleaning and disinfection has been carried out to make the pool safe.
Cllr Don Collier, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Borough of Poole, said: “The pool water is now clear of Cryptosporidium. I am delighted at the prompt action taken by officers from Leisure Services and Environmental & Consumer Protection to ensure the pool is safe to be enjoyed once again.”
Further testing and monitoring of the pool will continue in the coming days to ensure that safe levels are maintained.
