9 May 03Surf for Free and Win in Poole
Poole Library Services are giving you the chance to sample the wonders of the Internet, as part of Adult Learners week, from 12 to 17 May.
The week’s events include free have-a-go computer sessions with staff on hand to assist, demonstrations on Library Services online and introductions to family history online. Information will be available on other learning opportunities from taster to advanced courses and formal to informal learning. There will also be access to other learning providers.
Chas Rowling, Library Network Manager, said: "An hour of your time will be enough to show you how to send a message anywhere in the world and search the Internet for jobs, entertainment, shopping, news, gossip, hobbies and more. Staff will be available to help throughout the week, simply call in to your nearest library or telephone to book a computer place now. So if you don’t know your e-mail from your website, here is your chance to find out what all the fuss is about, for free!"
He added: "Visit any library in Poole and you will discover our unique role in providing access to information and learning resources, as well as information on leisure, entertainment and IT.
Poole libraries will also be celebrating the going live of Poole Libraries Online. You can now check out the library catalogue, your loan details, reserve items and renew loans by visiting:
