**9/4/03** Upton Bypass Works Update

Dorset County Council (DCC) and the Borough of Poole are currently working in partnership on major road resurfacing and bridge waterproofing work to the Upton Bypass between Holes Bay Roundabout and Bakers Arms Roundabout.

The work includes resurfacing of the entire westbound carriageway as well as the eastbound carriageway in Poole. Resurfacing work is also being carried out to the A350 interchange and slip roads as well as re-waterproofing of the bridges associated with the Pony Drive and A350 junctions.

For safety, a 40mph speed limit remains in force while lane and slip road closures are implemented. Some disruption to the travelling public will be inevitable and allowances should be made for additional journey times on both the Bypass and alternative routes.

The current provisional (weather dependent) programme is indicated below.
