4 Apr 03Pride in Poole - Everyones teaming up to clean up Poole
Support Pride in Poole this April by attending one of the many clean up events taking place across Poole over the forthcoming week.
Over 30 areas will be targetted by volunteers who’ll be rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in to remove litter, flytipping, graffiti and enhance neglected pieces of land.
The event follows the Council’s additional investment in street cleansing through the introduction of smarter working practices and new inovative equipment The campaign is a chance for the community of Poole to support the Council by giving some time to enhance their local environment
Peter Pawlowski Head of Consumer Protection Services said "Its an opportunity for public spirted individuals to get involved in helping ensure Poole remains a beautiful place for the future." He also added that "The clean ups will hopefully reinforce the message that people should act responsibly and ensure that waste does not escape in the first place."
The Borough of Poole in partnership with McDonalds will be arming each group with gloves, litter pickers, bin bags, T-shirts and will arrange for the disposal of any waste collected, wherever possible recycling any materials that can be.
