Children in Poole are to benefit from an award of £16,085 from the National Lottery’s New Opportunities Fund to set up two new Out of School Clubs.

The funding will help Poole Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership create 66 new places, enabling parents to access full day care facilities and offer them the opportunity to work a 16 hour week. Parents working a part-time week may be able to access support with childcare costs through the Working Families Tax Credit.

Cllr Sandra Moore, Chairman of the Education Policy Advisory Group, said: "This is good news for Poole, it will help us to continue to provide parents living and working in Poole with more opportunities for excellent care."

Talbot View, a pre-school in Parkstone, will be offering 50 new care places for an hour before the pre-school session and during the lunch hour, enabling the children to receive full day care, from 8.30am - 3.30pm. Cuddles Day Nursery in Canford Heath will also benefit from the funding and will create 16 new places to enable them to extend their childcare provision.

Paul Taylor, Head of Pupil and Parent Support, Borough of Poole, said: "This is the fifth consecutive award the Borough has received to set up new Out of School places and we are delighted that a further 66 places will now be available to families in Poole."
