This year the Borough of Poole is taking inspiration from the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, with ‘long service to the people and community of Poole’ as the theme for the Achievement Awards 2002.
Mayor of Poole, Cllr Graham Mason, said: "This year we came together as a community and as a nation to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and her dedicated service during the last 50 years. This year’s achievement awards are the chance for people to nominate those in Poole who have shown similar dedication and commitment to benefit their community. "
He added: "If you know of someone who has given much of their time serving the community for a number of years, then nominate them for an award and let them know how much their contribution is valued by the people of Poole."
Anyone can be nominated for an award so long as they live or work in the Borough and any organisation can be put forward if they are located within Poole.
The closing date for nominations is 1 November 2002 and nomination forms can be picked up at the Civic Centre, The Dolphin Shopping Centre, Leisure Centres, The Tourist Information Centre, Libraries and Museums, or from Helen or Matthew at the Borough of Poole on 01202 633018/633019.
