Forty-eight Poole Adult Learning students sat modules towards AS or full A Levels this summer in Psychology, Archaeology, Sociology, Spanish, Law, English Literature and English Language and Literature.

Of these, thirty achieved an AS qualification at grades A-E, representing a pass rate of 88%; and 15 achieved a full A Level at grades A-E, representing a pass rate of 94%. This meets the national average.

The percentage of learners achieving grade A-C at AS is 74% and the percentage of A Level learners achieving A-C is 56%.

Particularly good results were achieved by learners in the following subjects:

English Literature where 100% achieved A-C (National average is 74%)

English Language and Literature where 88% achieved A-C (National average is 61%)

Sociology where 88% achieved A-C (National average is 65%)

Archaeology where 80% achieved A-C (National average is 57%)

Some students successfully added modules towards AS and A Levels that they will complete in the future.
