On Monday, 19 August, people across Poole will be able to sample the musical delights of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s, Symphonic Brass ensemble. Three open-air performances across the Borough will be held free of charge, for one day only.
Linda Higson, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Co-Ordinator, said: "We held this event in Poole for the first time last year and we received a fantastic public response, there was a real buzz amongst the audience. This year we’re excited about performing at the new venues of Canford Heath and Parkstone."
The musicians will be playing a selection of popular and classical pieces, appealing to all tastes and ages. There will also be the opportunity to enter a balloon race with the chance to win a ticket for 4 for a Family Adventure Concert at the refurbished Poole Arts Centre.
Cllr Graham Wilson, Executive Spokesperson for Community Development, said: "I look forward to this event again which was such a success last year. It will give us all the chance to enjoy an excellent performance from this ensemble, free of charge! There are some great things going on in Poole this summer which I hope residents and visitors get the chance to enjoy."
Organised by the Borough of Poole’s Arts Development, in partnership with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s Education Unit, the event is aimed at bringing good quality music to the community. The first performance will begin at 11am in Canford Heath, outside Somerfields supermarket, the second is at 12.30pm outside St John’s Church in Parkstone and the final performance will be on the Quay at 2.30pm.
