23 Feb 06PHP celebrates 500th new bathroom
On Friday 24th February Poole Housing Partnership
(PHP) and partnering contractor MITIE will celebrate the completion their 500th bathroom replacement.
The bathroom replacements are part of Poole Housing Partnership’s massive reinvestment programme, which will bring all of Poole’s council homes up to the Decent Homes standard by 2010.
Mrs Gladys Cox from Oakdale, who was the recipient of the 500th bathroom, said: “My new bathroom is wonderful. It’s so modern and quite a change from my old one. I’m ever so grateful.
“The MITIE team were excellent, such hard workers and always pleasant and tidy. You couldn’t fault them. Everyone in the block here is pleased with the works and we’re all looking forward to seeing what else PHP have in store for us!”
Mrs Cox is invited to attend the celebrations and will cut a special cake to mark the occasion.
At the event, representatives from MITIE and PHP will sign a partnering charter agreement, which details how the two organisations aim to meet their objectives via a positive and proactive working relationship.
PHP Technical Services Manager, Mike Harrison says: “This milestone is testament to what we can achieve working in partnership with our contractors. As the programme rolls on, it’s great to see how more and more of Poole’s residents are benefiting, in real-terms, from the work we’re doing within the reinvestment programme.
“With home improvements underway across the Borough to bring every Council property up to the Decent Homes standard, we are proud in the knowledge that we are delivering better homes to our tenants.”
