Your Poole, Your Say - 2008 Place Survey

Thousands of people are being invited to say what they think about living in Poole.

5,500 households will be asked to have their say on life in Poole and local services by taking part in the 2008 Place Survey link will open in new window.

The survey will ask people what they think about services such as recycling, public transport and leisure facilities. People will also be able to give their views on the performance of the council, police, fire, and health services.

The council and other agencies will use the results to help make decisions about important services for people living in Poole.

The Government has requested every local council in England and Wales to carry out the survey, which will be delivered to a random selection of homes over the next week.

The survey will be carried out every two years to compare and measure performance of local services.

Cllr Brian Leverett, Leader of the Council, said: "The views of residents are very important to us. The feedback we receive will help the council and it's partners in Poole Partnership to understand which services perform well for residents and identify those which people tell us could be improved. This is a great opportunity for people to influence how services are delivered in Poole and we encourage as many people as possible to share their views by completing and returning the survey."

The survey results will be published by the Department for Communities and Local Government in 2009. They will also be published in the council's newspaper Poole News and website at www.boroughofpoole.com/opinions.
