Budding authors are being invited to cook up a story at writing workshop at Canford Heath Library.
The workshop, on Saturday December 1 between 10am and 11am, will encourage writers of all ages to practice their writing techniques and produce short stories around the theme of food.
The workshop will aim to encourage families to share their love for storytelling and writing, while picking up a few handy writing skills at the same time.
Any adults at the workshop who want to take their newly-found creative writing skills a step further will have the opportunity to sign to the BBC's short story competition
.
The workshop is part of the BBC's RAW
(Read and Write) campaign. All participants will receive free BBC RAW books.
Cllr Peter Adams, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said: "This is a great event for all the family to enjoy together. We want children, their parents and grandparents to share their love for storytelling and share their creative ideas. Who knows, we could find the next J.K. Rowling!"
Children attending the workshop need to be aged eight years old or over. For more information about the workshop please contact Laura Sneddon, Libraries Literacy Officer on 01202 261650. Places can be booked at Canford Heath Library on 01202 678955.
