10 Oct 07190-million-year-old former resident visits the Jurassic Coast
Thanks to a partnership between the Natural History Museum in London, the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Team and Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum a stunning ichthyosaur (ik-thee-o-sore) fossil found near Charmouth in West Dorset will be on show in a display travelling throughout the Jurassic Coast over the next twelve months.
Poole's fantastic position at the Eastern end of the 95 mile-long World Heritage Site make it an ideal location to enable residents to find out more about the outstanding natural heritage on their doorstep, and the beasts that used to live in their seas. In order to make the display as freely accessible as possible it will be in the Poole Central Library for 5 weeks from October 4th to November 8th.
