Family Learning Week free events in Libraries

We all know how much children learn from their parents, but sometimes this happens the other way round! We will be taking this as our theme in a series of free events taking place in Poole Libraries during Family Learning Week which runs from 6th to 13th  October - they include cartoons, computers and ceramic art.

Is the Internet strange and frightening territory for you, but not for your children? Get Online Day on 12th October is a chance for families to learn together how the Internet can help in everyday life. Drop in to any Poole Library on the day to find free help sheets, games to play, giveaways and the chance to win prizes. To access the help sheets online, go to the download section on the right of this page.

Alternatively you could explore the net (and more) at the 'Internet Plus' taster session at Canford Heath Library from 10.00 to 11.30, or enjoy one of the 'IT Help and Cyber Fun' sessions at Poole Central Library at 2.00pm or 3.00 pm. You can book in person at the library holding the event or by ringing 01202 678955 (Canford Heath) or 01202 262421 (Poole Central).

On Saturday 13th October families are invited to display their artistic skills at two free fun events. There is Plate Painting at Poole Central Library where you can create your own design and collect the glazed plate later. Sessions are at 10.00am, 10.45, 11.30 and 12.15, and booking (at the library or by phone) is now open. Alternatively you could try your hand at drawing Funny Faces in our cartooning workshop at Rossmore Library on 13th October at 1:15pm. Go into the library or ring 01202 746023 to book your place.
