20 Dec 04Pre-school Receive National Quality Award
Little People Kindergarten in Broadstone are celebrating the achievement of being the first Pre-school in Poole to be awarded a national accreditation certificate for Quality Assurance from the Pre-School Learning Alliance. This certificate is a national stamp of approval which recognises the settings commitment to excellent quality of provision.
Annette Brook, MP for Mid Dorset and North Poole presented the award at a special ceremony with staff, parents, children and guests on Saturday 11 December at Broadstone United Reformed Church Hall.
Linda Greenslade, Proprietor and Playleader at Little People Kindergarten, said: "Little People Kindergarten is absolutely delighted to receive this award. We offer a caring, stimulating environment for our children to develop socially, emotionally and intellectually in preparation for school. We would like to thank all the parents and staff for their support and hard work in helping us to achieve this."
There are currently 15 Pre-schools and Day Nurseries in the Borough of Poole working towards Quality Assurance Accreditation so very soon there will be even more settings in Poole recognised by this award.
Poole already has 45 Childminders who have gained quality assured status with many more working towards achieving the same.
Celia Manville, Early Years Quality Assurance Officer, Borough of Poole, said: "Every child deserves the best start in life and the opportunity to achieve their potential. Here in Poole, we are committed to achieving that goal by providing quality assured childcare that offers a safe, secure and stimulating environment with good educational opportunities that help children develop and grow."
