Logo And Motto Design Competition For Canford Heath

A competition is to be held by the Canford Heath Project, in conjunction with the Borough of Poole's Planning Design and Control Services to encourage local children to design a logo and motto for Canford Heath.
The chosen designs will initially be used on a sign planned for Adastral Square advertising the location of the car park and services available. It hoped that the designs will be included on any additional community signage erected in Canford Heath and in publications produced for "the Heath's" residents.
Two prizes will be awarded, one for the winning logo and the other for the winning motto.
Mayor, Cllr Graham Curtis, ward member for Canford Heath said: "This is a continuation of the Council's successful Community Learning and Development initiative, where the residents of Canford Heath were asked for their views on the needs and aspirations of the area. During the consultation, the importance of community focus was highlighted and a great deal of work on this area has already been completed by local residents. Now our young people are being asked to design a logo and motto which we hope will come to represent the community in which we live."
The competition is open to all Canford Heath young people up to the age of 16. The closing date for entries is Friday 29th January 1999 and judging will take place at Haymoor Middle School on February 10th 1999.
Prizes will be awarded by His Worship the Mayor Councillor Graham Curtis, at Canford Heath Middle School on March 10th 1999.
