Summer of Fun For Young People

Young people can enjoy a wide variety of activities this summer hosted by Borough of Poole.

Summer events organised by Children and Young People's Integrated Services include a range of sports and arts activities throughout the holiday season.

Activities include horse riding, golf and scuba diving as well as many more events designed to get young people out and about in Poole this summer.

Try your hand at sailing or kayaking for as little as £40 for a five-day course. Alternatively, those wanting a more intense experience can take a five-day trip to the Isle of Wight full of activities including abseiling, canoeing, quad biking and much more for £100.

There are also short breaks to Avon Tyrell during August with activities such as canoeing and raft building for £50.

Summer arts programme take place at youth centres in Turlin Moor, Bourne Valley and Creekmoor and involve a range of free creative activities such as dancing, body art, murals, clay modelling and jewellery making.

There are also lots of day and evening activities taking place that are completely free and include arts in the park, climbing, basketball, cycling, sports days and trips to SHOKK Gym.

Christine White, Strategy Manager for Children and Young People's Services, Borough of Poole, said: "We are delighted at the range of activities we are able to offer young people in Poole this summer. We hope they will take this opportunity to try something new, learn new skills, make friends and have a great summer holiday."

All costs include transport and accommodation where applicable.

Activities start on July 28 and are open to young people in Poole aged 13 to 19 years old on a first come first served basis. Places must be pre-booked to avoid disappointment.

Consent forms signed by parents or guardians will be required for all young people under the age of 18.
