Coastal Protection Work
The Coastal Protection team manage the maintenance of Poole's existing coastal defence structures such as sea walls, rock groynes and beach replenishment.
These works ensure that coastal erosion is kept to a minimum. In turn Poole's properties and roads are protected allowing residents and visitors to continue enjoying the various waterside locations.
All new coastal protection schemes are funded by DEFRA via the Environment Agency. The team make bids for the money meeting strict criteria for each project.
