Bourne Valley Play Area
In February 2007 work started on the installation of a long-overdue play facility at Bourne Valley Youth Centre, Northmere Road.
The porch was removed from the front of the building and a new main entrance has been created at the side. Car parking has been moved close to the new entrance.
The new play area includes:
- a multi-use games area surrounded by a high fence, with goal posts and basketball hoops and carefully planned access arrangements to allow exclusive use by, for instance, the supervised toddler groups when required; at other times it will be open to use by all. The court will be lit for year-round after-school and evening use;
- play equipment designed for children up to 14 years old, and
- a small area for 'wheeled play' such as skate boarding.
