Electoral Register

What is the Electoral Register?

The Electoral Register is a list of names and addresses of all residents who are registered to vote in Poole.

There are now two versions of the register. The Full version can only be used for certain purposes, such as elections, law enforcement and credit referencing. It is available at the Civic Centre Reception for members of the public to view.

The Edited version is available for sale and can be used for any purpose. All Poole libraries hold a copy of the edited version of the Electoral Register. Electors can opt out of this version by ticking the relevant box on the registration form.

How to register

If you have moved house, are coming up to 18 years old, or you are just not on the Register, it is important for you to provide us with your information so that you can vote. To do this you need to complete a Voter Registration Form obtainable either through our online application form or you can request one from our Electoral Services Office.

How the Electoral Register is updated

The Register of Electors is updated primarily once a year during September, October and November and is known as the annual canvass of electors. The register can then be updated throughout the year on a monthly basis. A new register is then published on December 1st.
