Messages from the Vehicle Crime Task Group
Please do not leave valuables on display in your car!
- Satellite navigation equipment is a favourite amongst thieves - make sure you remove the unit AND the cradle when you leave your car
- Lock the doors, windows, boot and sunroof each time you leave the vehicle, including at petrol stations
- Use any security devices you have. Fit an alarm or immobiliser if you do not have one
- Use a steering wheel or handbrake lock
- Keep driving documents and personal correspondance at home
- Look out for car parks displaying the Park mark logo, which tells you that they have achieved a 'safer parking' status
If you would like a copy of our windscreen notice stating "I have left no valuables in my vehicle", please email us or call 01202 633497.
Park off the road!
If you can, park your vehicle on a driveway or in a garage. This will not only decrease your chances of becoming a victim of vehicle crime, it will lower the cost of insurance.
