Arson Task Group

The Arson Task Group brings together representatives from Dorset Fire and Rescue Services , Dorset Police, the Urban Heaths Partnership and Leisure Services. The group is chaired by Paul Collins, Poole Area Coordinator for Dorset Fire and Rescue Services .

In its action plan for 2007/08, the task group has committed to:

• improve and develop information given to schools about arson
• identify best practice initiatives from other areas
• maintain a readiness to react to specific hotspots with a multi-agency response
• look at new ways of protecting heathland by surveillance
