Local Development Framework

The Core Strategy adopted February 2009 sets out the framework for development in Poole. It replaces a number of policies of the Poole Local Plan First Alteration which are detailed in Appendix 1 of the Core Strategy. Eventually the remaining policies of the Local Plan will be replaced by a number of documents in the emerging 'Local Development Framework' (LDF), the collective name for the suite of planning documents for a given area. The programme for the production of planning policy documents is set out in the Local Development Scheme (LDS) which also includes a 'Statement of Community Involvement' (SCI).

Poole Local Development Scheme was approved by the council on 27th July 2010, and came into effect on 27th August 2010. This document sets out the 3 year rolling programme for the preparation of the Local Framework. Links to the other documents being produced are found below, along with other key areas of work:
