Evening Hill gives spectacular views of Poole Harbour, one of the world's largest harbours. It is of major importance for wildlife conservation, recreation and commerce.
Each winter there are more than 20,000 birds in Poole Harbour and from Evening Hill you can see many different species, the most common residents are the Black-headed Gull, Oystercatcher, Curlew and Redshank.
The Evening Hill Discovery Trail is a three mile walk around Evening Hill and Sandbanks which can be joined at any point. Details of the trail are posted on an information panel at the Viewpoint itself
Ease of access for people with disabilities:
Most of the Trail is accessible to people with physical disabilities but the section along Sandbanks Beach may present problems for those in wheelchairs. At Leisure Services we encourage the use of all our facilities to everyone. Please let us know if you have any suggestions on how we could improve this facility for you.
