Upton Country Park is located about four miles west of Poole town centre and consists of approximately 100 acres of gardens, parkland and woodland on the edge of Holes Bay (part of Poole Harbour). The park attracts an estimated 200,000 visitors per year - who come to wander through and picnic in the gardens, cycle along the Holes Bay cycle track or just enjoy the stunning views over Holes Bay (a bird watching hide overlooks the saltmarshes and mudflats of the harbour).
The park surrounds Upton House, the former home of a wealthy Poole merchant. The house is usually open to the public on Sunday afternoons under the stewardship of the Friends of Upton Country Park. Please contact them for more details.
