The Gambling Act is a regulatory system to govern the provision of all gambling in Great Britain, other than the National Lottery and Spread Betting. Responsibility for the regulation of Gambling is shared between the Gambling Commission and Local authorities,

Premises licences are granted by local authorities and  we can receive applications under the Gambling Act 2005 link will open in new windowfrom

  • amusement arcades,
  • casinos,
  • bookmakers,
  • tracks and sporting sites,
  • bingo halls and
  • pubs/clubs wanting to have gaming machines.

There are fees associated with these applications.

Our Statement of Principle document explains how we intend to carry out our functions under the Gambling Act 2005 and will be reviewed every 3 years.
