Smokefree

Smokefree - the laws are changing

From 6 am on Sunday, 1 July 2007, virtually all workplaces and substantially enclosed public areas in England will become smokefree by law. This will include offices, factories, shops, pubs, bars, restaurants, membership clubs, public transport and work vehicles that are used by more than one person. The law will mean that indoor workplace smoking rooms will disappear. So anyone wishing to smoke will have to go outside instead.

The specific detail of how smokefree legislation will be implemented will be within smokefree regulations, to be made under powers within the smokefree parts of the Health Act 2006.

Details of how this new law will affect your business can be found at Smokefree link will open in new window.
