Please use the main entrance on the right hand side of the office building and be ready to show ID to a site assistant before you are allowed admission.

A three month trial using marked loading bays is being conducted at the request of the Heath and Safety Executive as a control measure to ease congestion on the site. Please be aware this may lead to increased queuing outside the site at busy periods.

Entry to the site is subject to you showing a site assistant proof of residency in Poole and proof of identity, such as:

  • recent council tax bill (this is the preferred document)
  • recent utility bill
  • bank statement

Dorset residents can also apply for a permit to use the site, applications should be made to Dorset County Council, Waste Management Services link will open in new window. You must bring your permit with you and show it to a site assistant.

Please be prepared to state what waste you are carrying so that you can be advised which bay(s) to use. Please declare any hazardous waste you are carrying.

Vehicle entrance policy

Restrictions are in place to maintain site safety and tackle illegal misuse by traders.

Following changes in Government legislation on increasing council's recycling performance and imposing restrictions on the amount of waste sent to landfill, we have found it necessary to modify the site to ensure maximum waste separation.

Additional waste bays have been introduced, and as a consequence turning space on site has been reduced, in the interest of the health and safety of both members of the public and site staff it has been necessary to introduce restrictions on the size of trailers entering the site.

The restrictions will ban:

  • vans larger than 3.5 tonnes unladen
  • trailers with trailer beds larger than 6 foot x 4 foot/ 1.2 metres x 1.8 metres

All cars, including 4 x 4's, camper vans and small trailers can continue to use the site as normal. Vans smaller than 3.5 tonnes can continue to use the site however checks may be undertaken at our discretion to confirm that the vehicle does not contain any commerical waste. If this is suspected you will be refused admission.

For the disposal of commercial waste or excessive amounts of domestic waste please see alternative waste disposal sites for further details.
