Game Dealer Licence
Game Dealers
From 1st August 2007 it is no longer a requirement to hold a licence to kill or sell game.
The Regulatory Reform (Game) Order 2007 repeals the following legislation:
- The Game Act 1831 which required dealers to be licensed in England.
- The Game Licences Act 1860 which extended the provisions relating to the sale of game to Wales and Scotland.
- The Deer Act 1991 (England and Wales) and the Deer (Scotland) Act 1959 which covered the sale of venison.
Therefore although it is no longer a requirement to hold a Game Licence the you will still be required to
- register the food business premises for public health purposes.
