Youth Forum
The Youth Forum is an organic open group of young people from across the Borough who come together to discuss current issues and get involved in current projects.
The group has no formal positions of chair, treasurer or minute taker, however the young people carry out all these functions as and when they feel confident enough to do so.
The Forum is located in the Civic Centre and they meet formally on the first Thursday of every month.
Adults can access the Forum and recruit interest and engage young people in a process of consultation. Prior to attending the Forum the group meet and agree on a process and then with the young people they negotiate a programme of work to achieve shared outcomes. This is done in a series of focus groups where interested young people take on commitment, engage in a process and take it forward to the next stage.
In the last few years, members of Poole Youth Forum have been on a number of trips, and participated in a number of projects.
You can find out more about Poole Youth Forum, including its trips and projects, by contacting our Senior Youth Worker, Peter Cooper.
