To find the best person / team to help you, please refer to our A-Z of services and click on the page link relevant to your enquiry. All appropriate contact details are normally shown at the bottom of each page.
Try the following links if you want to make a payment, application or report an issue, as you may be able to do it online, 24 hours a day.
By telephone
Instead of using the A-Z, if you know the department that you need to contact, please use the following link to select the appropriate Service Unit. Alternatively please use the following numbers:
- Main Switchboard: 01202 633633 (Please note: your call will be shorter if you ring the relevant service number directly).
- Minicom: 01202 743636 (a specialist service for hard of hearing customers).
- Emergency / Out-Of-Hours: 0800 506050
Our core working hours are:
- 8:30 am - 5:15 pm Monday - Thursday
- 8:30 am - 4:45 pm Friday
However, an increasing range of services are now available to you between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday, as part of our Customers First programme.
Online
For the quickest response use our online report it and apply for it services. There are now over 300 services available online.

By post

In person
If you wish to visit us in person, please note that we have various office buildings open to the public across the borough. Some services such as Planning, Building Consultancy and Benefit Payments, are provided at the Civic Centre itself.
