Public Art In Poole

What is Public Art?

Public Art is visual art of craft made by an artist or craftsperson and placed in an area freely accessible to the Public. It could be sculpture, painting, photographs, playground design, signage, street furniture, lighting or the internal detailing of a building, its furniture, flooring and even its crockery.

Through our Public Art Officer, artists are involved at very early stages of urban development projects to work closely with planners and engineers, sharing ideas and consulting with communities to create a sense of place for local people and visitors to Poole.
