Special Requirements
It is essential that you tell us about your needs and any special requirements during the enrolment process. This enables us to make arrangements and to avoid making commitments we are unable to keep.
Please state on the enrolment form any help or support you may need such as:
- If you use a wheelchair
- Have a hearing or visual impairment.
- We always welcome carers and/or parents (as appropriate) to take part when learners come for a visit or to enrol.
- A specialist communicator can be present if requested.
Details will be treated in confidence and will not be given to others without your permission.
Equipment and Technology
Staff are available, after discussion/assessment, to help you use specialist equipment which may include:
- Lap-top computers
- Screen magnifier facilities
- Video cameras
- Induction Loop Systems
Work surfaces are arranged where possible to allow easy access.
We will try to obtain any specialist equipment you need within the limits of the funds we have available. To enable this to happen we need to know about your needs as soon as possible.
Transport
Assistance may be provided, as appropriate, in the form of taxis, adapted vehicles, volunteer car or volunteer support on public transport.
Support Advice
To discuss financial or learning support, please contact the Social Inclusion Officer on 01202 262325. He can offer support and guidance and refer you to other sources of help.

You will need to obtain a form from The Oakdale Centre and, once completed, submit it for approval.
Additional financial help is available for some learners, please phone the Social Inclusion Officer on 01202 262325. This discretionary support will vary depending on the type of course you enrol on.
