Requesting an item
If you want to read a book, see a film or listen to a CD that is not in the library, you can request it and we will do our best to get it for you. There are several ways you can do this:
- Fill in a card at any library
- Request the item online via the library catalogue

- Telephone any Poole library
- Contact us by email
If the item is in stock in another Poole library, we will get it for you free if it is a non-fiction book or audiovisual item. There is an admin charge for fiction books.
For items not in stock in Poole libraries, we will either buy a copy or borrow one from another library authority or the British Library. We make a charge for this service, and you will need to visit a library to place the request.
