How to contact us

To find the best person / team to help you, please refer to our A-Z of services and click on the page link relevant to your enquiry. All appropriate contact details are normally shown at the bottom of each page.


Online

For the quickest response to report a problem, apply for a service or to tell us about an issue, use our self-service forms.  There are now over 400 services available online available 24 hours a day.

Alternatively, you can contact us and we can forward your request to the relevant team. Please include a brief description of your enquiry, your contact details and whether you would like us to email a response.

If you would prefer to email please view the list of council departments to select the most relevant service unit. Specific e-mail addresses are also listed at the top right of most web-pages. Please be aware that using the report it or apply for it forms will be the quickest way to have your request resolved.


By Phone

Please use our A-Z of services to find the number you need. You can also use the following phone numbers:

  • Main Switchboard: 01202 633633 (Please note that your call will be shorter if you ring the relevant service number).
  • Emergency / Out-Of-Hours: 0800 506050
  • Text Relay: Dial 18001 then the full phone number you want to call, including the area code.

Text Relay is a telephone based service for deaf and hard of hearing customers who wish to use a textphone or minicom to contact us.

Calls to some numbers may be recorded for quality, training and security use.

Our core working hours are:

  • 8:30 am - 5:15 pm Monday - Thursday
  • 8:30 am - 4:45 pm Friday

However, an increasing range of services are now available to you between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday as part of our Customers First Programme as shown in our A-Z of services. However, please note that all supported services will be temporarily restricted to core opening hours only during January and February 2010. Extended hours for those services indicated in the A-Z Guide will resume on 1st March.

In person

If you wish to visit us in person, please note that we have various office buildings open to the public across the borough. Some services such as Planning, Building Consultancy and Benefit Payments, are provided at the Civic Centre itself.
