Governance Board
The Children's Services Governance Board meets 4 times a year.
Its remit is to:
- Oversee development of integrated planning, commissioning and service delivery which achieve agreed outcomes for children and young people across the Borough of Poole, the Health Trusts and Connexions, Youth Offending Team and Dorset Police Force
- Agree principles, overall direction and resourcing
- Monitor progress
The Governance Board is chaired by Councillor Tony Woodcock, Portfolio Holder for Children and Young People, and its other members are made up of representatives from each of the Children's Services agencies in Poole.
The Children's Services Executive Group meets every month.
Its remit is to:
- Agree strategies to deliver key outcomes for children and young people.
- Develop the single Children's Services plan and commissioning strategy.
- Develop integrated business and resource plans to achieve outcomes.
- Commission specific services for children and young people on a multi-agency basis (particularly locality based services).
- Monitor implementation of plans.
- Ensure effective communication with employees and all key stakeholders.
- Ensure children, young people and parents and communities shape services.
- Act as the Local Implementation Team for the National Service Framework for Children and Maternity Services.
The Executive Group is chaired by John Nash, Strategic Director, Children's Services, and its other members are made up of senior managers from each of the Children's Services agencies in Poole.
