Making Your Application (Middle School)
Applications for places in a middle school in September 2008 can be made using our online application form until the published closing date.
Alternatively please use the application form which is used by all schools within the Borough of Poole. This must be received by the current school if your child is attending a Poole first school, or sent directly to us if they attend a school outside the Borough by 12.00 o'clock midday on 11 January 2008.
Applying on denominational grounds.
If you are applying for a place at Baden Powell & St Peters VC Middle School on religious grounds you should read the school's admissions policy carefully as you will need to provide a letter of support from a Priest/Vicar/Minister of Religion.
(Please note: On-line applicants should ensure that the letter of support is sent/delivered directly to The School Admissions Team in Children & Young People's Integrated Services to arrive by the published closing date and time. It should not be sent to a school).
Late applications.
Applications received after the published closing date for admission in September will be considered after all on-time applications have been processed. The on-line facility will not be available after the published closing date. If there are too many applications for the places available after all the on-time applicants have accepted places at the school, places will be allocated in accordance with the priorities set out in the admissions policy.
Home address.
We will consider that a child's home address is the address at which they live during the school week. Where a child lives at more than one address during the school week we will consider the home address as being where the prime carer resides. The "prime carer" is the person in whose name Child Benefit payments for the individual child are made.
Waiting lists.
We maintain waiting lists for oversubscribed year groups in individual middle schools. The length of time an applicant has been on the waiting list is not taken into consideration when a place becomes available. Places are offered as and when they become available using the oversubscription criteria set out in the admissions policy.
Curriculum and assessment
