Catchment Areas - Schools
A school’s catchment area is a geographical boundary which children have historically attended a school and are used in the admissions process. You should not assume that you live within the catchment area of your local school.
The Borough of Poole is responsible for the catchment areas of all Community and Voluntary Controlled schools. The Governing Body of each of the Foundation and Voluntary Aided schools control its own admission arrangements, including catchment areas.
How to find out what your catchment Community or Voluntary Controlled school is

- Click on your address from the list
- Click on 'Schools'
- Click on 'Find catchment areas for this property' directly underneath 'schools' - the catchment schools for your address will appear below the 'show selection' button.
If you require to know the catchment school for a non Borough of Poole address you will need to contact the local authority for that area, either Dorset County Council
or Bournemouth Borough Council

Individual schools can also tell you whether or not your home address is within it’s catchment area. If you have any doubts about which is your catchment area school you should contact our Admissions Team using the details below.
