National Standards for Childcare Staff
Good quality staff are essential to the success of a setting. Under the National Standards for Early Years Daycare and Childminding, certain standards and criteria are expected of the registered person or setting, their staff and volunteers.
The National Recruitment Campaign continues to highlight the benefits of working in the sector, promoting the need for training and qualifications. There is now a stronger emphasis on the need for a diverse workforce. This is focused on
- people with disabilities,
- people from ethnic minorities,
- and specifically, targeted information for men.
