How to become a Quality Assured Network Childminder

As a registered childminder, you can achieve Quality Assured status, by becoming a member of an National Childminding Association (NCMA) approved "Children Come First" childminding network.

Membership of The Borough of Poole NCMA "Children Come First" Childminding Networks is open to Registered childminders who provide childcare for families who live or work in Poole and its locality. Network membership provides the opportunity for you to gain Quality Assured Status, recognition, support and benefits.

  • Quality Assured status and recognition.
  • Promoting childminding as a professional, high quality childcare service
  • A vacancy matching service
  • Ongoing support and training
  • Monthly Drop-in sessions and extensive toy library
  • Enabling childminders to be Accredited to provide Nursery education, eligible for grant
  • Regular events for children
  • Social events for childminders

Assessment for membership takes the form of a series of visits by a network co-ordinator that provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate your good practice and to identify any areas for further training and professional development.

Network childminders work to the standards set by the National Childminding Association (NCMA) Quality Childminding Charter, which covers all aspects of childminding practice.
