Learning Support Service

The Learning Support Service provides a service to pupils displaying challenging behaviour.

The team works in schools with children who have been identified as experiencing social, emotional or behavioural difficulties. It does this by working in partnership with schools to devise appropriate interventions and a range of strategies to meet the needs of individuals, groups or whole classes.

Learning Support also arranges an education programme for permanently excluded pupils.

Long-term school absence

If your child is unable to attend school for an extended period of time the school will discuss the individual issues with us. Further information is available on school attendance.

Hospital Education Service

The Hospital Education Service provides a teaching service to children who have to stay in hospital. This ensures continuity in a child's curriculum.

Information is obtained directly from their schools about their individual course work and this is continued in hospital (where possible) for the period of their stay.

If necessary individual tuition may be arranged for pupils living in the Poole area, should they need to recuperate at home for an extended period of time before returning to school.
