Family Support Directory

The directory of services link will open in new window has been put together, listing over 500 organisations. Its aim is to help families find appropriate services for their needs, whatever they may be. There are full details of providers of sports and leisure, health, social care and careers, to name but a few.

This directory is part of the Information Sharing and Assessment Project (ISA) set up by the Department for Children, Schools and Families link will open in new window to help everyone working with children and young people work together more effectively to get a better deal for all

Care To Learn

How Care To Learn can help you? If you are 16 or over but under 19 and start learning anytime after 1 August 2003, or if you are continuing a course in a school sixth form or sixth form college that you started before you were 19, Care To Learn link will open in new window can pay for your childcare.


Tax Credits

If you have children and a household income of up to £58,175 you may still be eligible for Child Tax Credits. If you work at least 16 hours a week, you may get help with the costs of childcare under the Working Tax Credit link will open in new window. The Children's Information Service has Tax Credit leaflets available upon request. Alternatively, you can telephone the Tax Credit Helpline: 0845 300 3900.


PoPPs (Poole Parent Partnership Service)

We give a confidential, impartial service to parents and carers of children with special educational needs (SEN). We can help parents/carers to:

  • know someone is listening to them
  • understand how special educational needs (SEN) processes work
  • work with schools, early years settings and the local education authority (LEA)
  • get information about local support & services

National Ten Year Strategy for Childcare
