Parking Permit - Non-Old Town Residents
In consultation with residents, we have established a number of parking zones within the Borough. A parking permit enables the resident to park their vehicle for an unlimited time in any of the marked parking places within their appropriate parking zone.
The parking permit does not guarantee a parking space and is vehicle specific and therefore must be displayed in the vehicle which matches the registration shown on the permit at the time of parking.
Daily resident visitor scratchcard permits are also available, for purchase by residents only, and subject to limitations within each zone. These permits may be used by visitors in the same way as a resident permit, and subject to the same conditions.

The permit application form is available in 2 formats:
- A pdf version to print off, complete and return to us in the post
- A Word version to download and type into which allows you to keep an electronic copy
The fee(s) for the Resident Parking Permit (subject to review) are:
- Resident Permit (annual) £30.00
- Daily resident visitor permit (min purchase 5 days) £1.00 per day
- Change of vehicle (per change) £5.00
Application may be made in person at the Civic Centre, however new/renewal annual permits will not be issued at the public counter.
