Building Notice Form
The Building Notice is only recommended for minor projects as all control of the work is carried out on site after each part is completed. Contraventions of the Building Regulations discovered by the District Building Surveyor may need alteration removed. All this method requires you to do is submit a simple description of the proposed work along with the appropriate fee.
If the proposal is for the erection of a new building or the extension of an existing building then a ‘Block Plan’ should accompany the Notice.
The Council have the right to request certain information to enable them to deal with the work properly.
Nb: Where the proposed work involves the erection, extension or underpinning of a building over or in the vicinity of a public sewer or drain shown on the map of sewers kept by Wessex Water (the sewerage undertaker) a Building Notice is not acceptable, a Full Plans application must be submitted.
