We provide a range of services and support groups to help people who are caring for loved ones and encourage carers to take advantage of services and groups that may be helpful. Scroll down this page for details of our groups.
The Carers Services Manager located in Adult Social Care and Well-being Unit consults with carers and staff to ensure that services are meeting carers' needs.

Poole Carers' Network (support group)
All carers are welcome to attend this group which meets on the second Tuesday of every month (apart from August) from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Longfleet Baptist church, Wimborne Road (corner of Marnhull Road), Poole. A range of carers events takes place during the Winter/Spring.
The programme for Winter/Spring 2008 is as follows:

- 11th March - Mental Capacity Act - Terry Stewart
- 8th April - Spring Crafts
- 13th May - Assessment and Services for People with Dementia - Frances Fielding

Carers Daytime Course - Caring for Someone at Home
This is a free training course run several times a year for people who are looking after someone at home who has a physical or mental health condition.. The course consists of 5 sessions on different care topics. The next course starts in April 2008.

This course provides an introduction to Practical Care Techniques/Moving & Handling, Legal Aspects of caring / Benefits advice, Coping with the stress of caring and Assistive Technology.
