Fourways Project Board
The Fourways Project Board was established in September 2004 to:
- Support the concept of a Community Resource Centre to replace an exclusive day centre provision.
- Agree a project plan for the redevelopment to be progressed which is intended to be capital and revenue funding neutral.
- The principle of possibly disposing part of the site to the private sector in order to release capital for the redevelopment of the new Fourways.
- Agree in principle that the new Fourways should be externalised from Council control.
The purpose of the Fourways Project Board is to ensure that these decisions can be progressed and in a manner which fully engages the views of service users at Fourways, organisations that utilise the site of Fourways, and also the views of disabled people who do not attend Fourways Day Centre.
The Board originally met on a monthly basis, but now meets as and when there are items of substance to discuss. The Board is chaired by Charlie Sheldrick (Head of Adult Social Care and Well-being Unit) and reports to the Community Support Overview Group for decision making.
Membership of the Board includes Councillors, Council Officers, Service Users, Carers representatives, and other local organisations and groups.
Board Minutes are available. If you would like a copy of these please contact us.
