Adult Social Care

Poole Adult Social Services has been awarded top marks for delivering social services to people in Poole. Borough of Poole has been awarded a maximum three-star rating by the Care Quality Commission link will open in new window (CQC), formerly known as the Commission for Social Care Inspection. Our aim is to promote the health, well-being and independence of those Borough of Poole residents  most in need and their carers. We do this by:

  • providing day services which in addition to providing care give access to a wide range of opportunities within the community
  • providing domiciliary care services for people with long-term high dependency needs and short-term for people recently discharged from hospital
  • supporting disabled people to find and maintain employment
  • providing support to people with drug and/or alcohol dependency issues
  • promoting the well-being of vulnerable people within the wider community through a range of partnerships with the NHS locally and a range of voluntary organisations
  • providing care management assessment and some direct provision for people with a learning disability
  • promoting the well-being of vulnerable people who often need to be looked after in residential or nursing homes, and those being cared for at home
